Sam's birth story

This was the first time I've ever documented a baby's birth story...and I loved it. I'm so excited to share with you Sam Shipman....

Mandy and Steve live about a block from the hospital, so they walked! Who walks to the hospital? My friend April and I drove over to Oxford and followed them around all day. We were like the paparazzi. This is the couple that didn't find out if they were having a boy or girl...so I was able to capture a picture of Steve when he told everyone it's a boy! Mary Margaret (or as April's girls call her, Mary Market) was such a sweet big sister. She kept saying, "Baby" and "Momma hold me." She wanted Mandy to hold her not the baby!

Jordan and Ryan

This was one of the most fun engagement sessions I've had. Jordan and Ryan drove up from Pascagoula and met me in Jackson. The temperature had dropped all day, so it was really cold by the time we met and starting shooting. I felt so sorry for Jordan - she was freezing!

These are some of my favorites. I love the two of their eyes. Jordan's eyes are beautiful and blue. Ryan's are dark and striking. I can't wait for their wedding!

It's a BOY!!!!

I posted maternity pictures last week of Mandy - she and Steve did not find out if they were having a boy or girl. Well, she had a BOY yesterday! Here's a picture of him about 30 minutes after he was born. They had not even completed his assessment yet! More pictures to follow soon....

boy or girl?

My friend Mandy is pregnant and having her baby Monday. She and Steve didn't find out if they are having a boy or girl. So we did some fun maternity shots of her. If he's a boy, his name is Sam. If she's a girl, her name is Ann Elise.

And isn't their 18 month old Mary Margaret precious?

Kristin and Drew

Kristin and Drew are getting married in May. I took their engagement pictures this weekend. It was beautiful - it doesn't feel like February outside because it's 70. They were so fun, and I can't wait for their wedding!

Friendship Cemetery

I don't have time to take a lot of artistic pictures outside of portraits, but yesterday I was inspired to go to Friendship Cemetery in Columbus to take some. I recently got a new lens and wanted to test it out. I also used my fisheye lens in some of these.
