JImmy and Lacey

Jimmy and Lacey got married on St. Paddy's Day. It was beautiful weather and such a fun wedding to shoot. Here are a few pictures....

Jimmy's groom's cake.

Doesn't it look like someone is trying to block the garter, like in basketball?

Jimmy's aunt was my favorite! Isn't she beautiful???

absent

I haven't posted in a while. I've been busy editing pictures - I will post some soon. Last weekend I took pictures at a wedding. We did all the pictures before at a beautiful house in Rankin County.

Friday night I took pictures of our friend Jim Barnes Jim Barnes' recording studio. (I always say his full name twice for some odd reason). If you want to record an album, contact him. I'll post some of his incredible studio soon.

This morning I took pictures of a two year old - Parker. He was so much fun. His parents go to our new church.

So I've been busy taking pictures. Will's been busy at the church. This Wednesday night we are having a joint service with an African American congregation in Columbus. We are so excited about it. Back to editing....

art show at the Ink Spot Gallery

Friday night Aaron Phillips and I had an art show at the Ink Spot Gallery downtown Jackson. It was a lot of fun. I've been trying some new photography techniques (light painting, photography at night). Here are a few pictures my friend Melody Moody took.

trip to Natchez

Will played at a retreat in Natchez last weekend. We walked around downtown and took some photos.

Will and Josh Maze.

Josh Maze. Will Reedy. David Leonard. Hunter Stewart.

Will got a haircut (thanks to Josh!). I love it!

Josh took a picture of us with the MS River behind us. We rarely have pictures of the two of us because I'm always behind the camera.

This is a Catholic church downtown. They were having mass, so we couldn't take pictures inside. It's beautiful.

erin bell

This was my first senior picture session in Columbus. Erin is a dancer and will attend ICC in the fall to dance! She is incredible. Her mom and dog, Andy, came with her. I had a dream about Andy - I was dog sitting him and he kept trying to jump into a mud puddle. I woke Will up that night because I was telling Andy not to jump in. That is just par for the course for mine and Will's crazy dreams. Erin's best friends Laura Lynn and Andrea also came. All three girls are absolutely beautiful, and I had so much fun taking their pictures. Here are a few of my favorites.

carisa and kevin

These are a few of my favorite pictures of Carisa and Kevin Galloway. Their wedding was February 10 at Lakeland Presbyterian Church in Jackson. They were so sweet and fun to work with. Carisa surprised Kevin with a Harley Davidson grooms cake. Will and I are jealous, though, because they went to Hawaii on their honeymoon!

what to post?

I never know what to post on here.

I had the stomach flu last week, and I'm still not quite over it.

I'm overwhelmed by life. Columbus. Jackson. Photography. Moving. Cleaning.

I'm helping my brother build a website - www.ferntrail.com - more to come soon!

It's beautiful weather today. It feels like Spring already. I love being outside.

Jimmy and Lacey

I took Lacey and Jimmy's engagement photos Saturday morning. We were lucky - the rain held off until after we were done. Their wedding is in March - I can't wait to shoot it. They are such a sweet couple. You can see their love for each other in their eyes.

the Saints lost.

Today was Will's first "official" day in Columbus. Everyone was so sweet and receptive to us being there. Yesterday I set up a photography booth at the bridal fair in Columbus. I booked one wedding (thanks, Catherine!) for December and made lots of good contacts - with other vendors as well as brides. My mom helped, and she was such a blessing. Bridal fairs are crazy!

We looked at a house this weekend in Columbus that we're interested in. It's very similar to our house in Fondren. Speaking of...if you know anyone who is looking for a house, we're putting ours on the market!

Here are a few pictures from a beautiful wedding I had the priveledge of shooting December 30. Lauren and Jon were such a fun couple - a Mississippi girl and a New York boy!

photographer

So Friday was my last day at the Jackson Free Press. I've learned more than I could ever imagine about design/marketing/advertising. I am so thankful for the time I worked there. But, I'm extremely excited about this new phase of my life with Will. I'm officially a photographer! That is a bit scary to me. That means I'm my own boss. I decide when to get up, when to work, when to take a break. It's amazing, though, and I feel blessed to actually be able to do what I'm passionate about.

On another note, Mt. Vernon Church in Columbus, MS, voted Will as their worship pastor. So we'll be moving there in the near future.

So many changes and so many new beginnings....
